Summer Camps for Kids:

Clay Camp: Is it Clay or is it Cake?  $145

Monday, Aug11-14
10:00 AM – Noon

Let’s trick the eye and tantalize the tastebuds (not really!) with clay creations that look good enough to eat! We’ll sculpt and mold fun food-inspired clay objects that will leave your friends wondering, “Is it really food, or is it clay?”

Get ready to:

• Craft a container that’s a clever disguise! Shape a burger box that holds trinkets, or a cupcake case that hides secret treasures.
• Bake up a batch of realistic cookies (the kind that last forever!). We’ll use clay to form the dough and “pipe” on frosting with clay slip for the ultimate deception.
• Design a pizza trinket holder – the perfect place to “serve up” your favorite jewelry.
• Mold functional objects with a foodie twist:  Sculpt spoons that look like they’re made of chocolate, cups that resemble ice cream cones, or bowls that appear to be carved from fruit.

By the end of the week, you’ll have a collection of clay creations that are both beautiful and deceptive – the perfect way to showcase your artistic skills and play a fun trick on your friends!

Special Notes

• This class will be held in our upstairs classroom. Students will need to be able to go up stairs to attend. (We will make all accommodations possible if notified prior)
• Register for the correct age group (how old your child will be at the time of the class. child must be at least 6yrs of age no exceptions).
• Each child will receive one t-shirt. Please let us know your child’s size when registering.
• We will adhere to CDC recommendations for Covid concerns & mask wearing for our area at the time of your class.
• Bring a water bottle labeled with child’s name
• Drop off 5 min before class begins and pick up at the side door. Please walk your child to the door.
• For a full day register for the morning session, the lunch break, and art after noon.
